There are more and more horse riding enthusiasts in Szentendre and the region, the number of people engaged in horse husbandry is growing. Some of them keep horses as a hobby, some others want to keep traditions alive, while others teach horse riding. Normally the horses spend their time outdoors, in meadows grazing grass, only in winter, during severe weather they can take shelter under a roof. Kept in this robust type of husbandry the geldings, the mares and the foals live in a natural hierarchy, whereas this is not possible when horses are kept in box stalls.
